Reasons to Choose Graco SnugRide 35 Infant Car Seat

Graco Snugride 35Besides of safety, comfort is also an important reason in choosing an infant car seat. The features Graco SnugRide 35 seems to provide both of them and to know more about this product, simply read the pros and cons revealed below.

Pros of Graco Snugride 35

Self Supported Canopy

You may have seen many strollers and car seats come with annoying canopies that latch to the back of the head rest and would come out at a certain distance. Well, this is actually a standard design of a baby car seat canopy, but still some people might not really happy with it because unless it is really huge, it is basically useless (especially if you are not living on the equator). The self supporting canopy frame practically means a canopy that can be adjusted as far forward as you would like while the structure is still well-maintained. That way, you can keep the sun light, wind, and other weather conditions off the baby, no matter of which angle they are coming in at. This is simply better than other car seats which let you unlatch the canopy from the back and move it forward, but then since it has no support the back of the canopy will drop down.

Easy-to-Adjust Harness

With the individual side clips that can be buckled in separately, you wont need any fancy finger work to get the two sides together and then snap it in. Another thing about the harness is that you can easily loosen it by depressing the clamp and pulling the harness away from the baby to make easier access to the baby. As safety feature, when the seat is snapped into the base, the harness wont budge even if you depress the clamp. You might think that the chest plate seems a little large for a newborn, but according to a mom with a 7lb 7oz son, the plate works just fine and the baby didnt seem to feel uncomfortable with it.

Designed of Up to 35 lbs and 32 inches Babies

I think the number 35 refers to the maximum weight of the baby you can carry with this seat, and this means you can still use it until your little one is big enough to seat on the normal passengers seat. Parents would love this feature because you wouldnt want to purchase something you can only use for a few months, would you?

Sturdy Base with Adjustable Angle

Besides of easy installing Graco SnugRide 35 felt sturdy even before you give it a big tightening pull. The angle adjustment knob seems to be designed to add the security; it causes the plate on the bottom to move downward by twisting the knob on top. Do this after tightening the base in as increasing the height would tighten the base even more that it would not move even an inch.

Extra Handle Position

While most car seats have 2 positions in which the handle snaps (one is at the carrying position and the other is at the head rest), Graco SnugRide 35 has an extra one in between. Setting the car seat with your baby in it with this extra position wont block your mirror set up.

Nice Design

Besides of the soft and sturdy design, this car seat is available in 4 color prints/patterns: Grey, Clairmont, Rittenhouse, Zurich. The newborn head rest seems very plump and effective for any newborn, it could even be plumper because there is still plenty of room that the newborn head might move around. However, this can be tackled by adding a small rolled up towel around the babys head. Theyll be growing in no time anyway, so this is not a really big deal.

Rubber Part on the Base and Curvy Bottom

There is rubber part on the base which makes the seat feel so much safer especially when you put it down on a slick surface. The bottom also has a curve that you can rock the seat to calm down your baby or make him/her sleep if you like.

Graco Snugride 35 Cons

So far, I can only find one con of Graco SnugRide 35. This is actually not something to be really bothered but weight could be an issue for some people. Yes, this unit could be really heavy but considering it could carry a baby with a maximum weight of 35 lbs this would really make sense. Anyway, some users have no problem carrying their 25 lbs baby on the car seat. They even said that carrying the baby with the seat should be a breeze. But if you think it is still too heavy for you to carry with your baby in it, then I suggest not traveling with the seat alone. There is a stroller frame also from Graco which you can attach the seat with a few simple clicks. Rather than carrying your baby in your arms, letting him sitting snug in the stroller is not a bad idea, isnt it?
